I've been playing around with the idea of creating lightboxes for a while and this is my first attempt. These are screenprinted perspex backlit with led light strips (which have a range of colours, fade effects etc just for fun). I reversed the perspex sheets in the box mounts which gives a more subdued effect (and protects the fairly delicate screenprinted surface. The LED strips are powered by small USB chargers, so each unit is completely self contained.
Over the past couple of weeks I've been creating a set of "7" single" versions of some of my pinhole camera images which I'll be sending out to venues, artists and labels shortly to promote my print practice. The collection features Money, Ought and the Fall in an edition of five, featuring five individual prints. See more of the collection here
I've just posted a new set of images from Melvins at The Exchange in Bristol here. This was an amazing night, ridiculously loud and energetic and so good to see Melvins in such a small venue. Definitely one of those nights when I wasn't sure whether anything I was getting was going to be usable. Picked the wrong side of the stage to be close enough to Buzz to get really good images, but I think there is something of the evil clown in these shots. On the flip side Steven McDonald's theatrics and energy provided some really interesting images. Did a lot more post production than normal to bring these images up and I'm not sure how they will develop into prints at the moment but I think it would be interesting to work back into these in some way, make them angrier and more distressed to really bring out the energy and edginess of the gig.
